All Apple Watches check and store your pulse several times an hour. The newer ones also check for certain signs of something being wrong, like if you are at rest but the heart is racing. Then they will warn you.

My little sisters both got a Apple Watch for their birthday a few weeks ago. It's good to see how many features they really have! All they do is change the background every few minutes Laughing
